How to Check if Your Existing Hitch is Compatible

Upgrading to an OzHitch is one of the easiest ways to modernise your off-road trailer or caravan setup — but before ordering the conversion kit, it’s important to check one key detail:

Does your existing poly block bolt on… or is it welded with a fixed pin?

The OzHitch Conversion Kit for AT35 / Treg and Trigg is designed specifically for older style AT35, Treg and Trigg couplings that use a removable bolted poly block assembly.

If your coupling uses a welded fixed pin style setup, this conversion kit will NOT fit.

Compatible Style – Bolted Poly Block ✅

If your existing hitch has a poly block assembly that is bolted into the coupling housing, the OzHitch conversion kit will usually fit.

Common signs include:

  • Visible mounting bolts
  • Removable poly block section
  • Pin assembly that can be unbolted
  • Serviceable coupling design

These are the easiest couplings to convert to OzHitch.

Non-Compatible Style – Welded Pin ❌

Unfortunately, these cannot use the OzHitch conversion kit because the original coupling geometry is completely different.

✅ You can see removable mounting hardware

Your coupling is likely NOT compatible if:

❌ The pin is welded permanently
❌ The poly block cannot be removed
❌ The assembly is one welded piece
