Yes, 9 massive tons of pressure and the OZHITCH took it all. In fact when we were testing we decided we would test to destruction. The machine was set to 5.25 tons, one and a half times higher that the already massive 3.5 tons we were accredited for. The machine was activated and 5.25 tons of pressure was loaded onto the OZHITCH. Then the engineers increased the load. 6 tons, 7 tons, 8 tons, still nothing. The OZHITCH took the pressure without any problem. Then we increased the pressure a little at a time as the engineers thought we had to be at the OZHITCH’s limits. Eight tons on a 3.5 ton hitch. Hello,
Let me introduce myself. I’m Norman Hudson. As you can see from the photo I’m an outdoors kind of guy. I’ve been into the outdoors, off roading and towing for a long as I can remember. You see I was born into it as my Dad was the owner of Koala Campers. So I was raised on campers, 4x4s and the wide open spaces. I got my first 4×4 at 19 and boy did I love it, an old Nissan 720 ute. Camping and 4x4ing became an every weekend thing and some crazy boys weekends away. I remember having got bogged and learning the ropes the hard way breaking the 4×4 quite often. Learning how to winch, navigate rough terrain, bogs, and the beach and it was all so much fun.
At 25 I built myself my first off-road camper, bought a 1984 Hilux which I converted from a 2 litre engine to a 3.8 litre V6 chevy and off we went around Australia. Man what an adventure. Ayres Rock, Kakadu, Litchfield Park, Hells gates, Gibb River road (when it was a challenge) Wolf Crater, Karajini NP, Tunnel creek man we had such a good time. 27,500 Km’s in all and in just 3.5 months. Yeah I know MAD. But I loved it. I haven’t stopped since. Off Roading and the great outdoors are my passion.
